We're looking for a Design Engineer to help create safe, efficient substation designs (up to 132kV).
Our projects involve replacing existing electrical assets on our electricity distribution network from 11 - 132kV. You'll be involved in project planning, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring CDM compliance.
If you bring relevant experience, a solid understanding of substation systems, and a full driving licence, we’d love to hear from you!
You will:
* Develop detailed, buildable project designs that comply with SSEN standards and specifications.
* Produce, verify, and approve design calculations to ensure cost-effective, compliant solutions.
* Engage with stakeholders during design development and specify primary plant items with an understanding of their interaction.
* Provide technical support across the team, including temporary works and site-specific detailed designs.
* Coordinate pre-construction activities, prepare tender documentation, track design progress, and ensure CDM 2015 compliance and financial governance.
You have:
* Excellent knowledge and understanding of power system substation design and operation up to 132kV.
* A qualification (minimum of HNC level) in a relevant discipline or demonstrable experience in a similar role.
* Experience working under engineering design governance structures and preparing tender documentation.
* Principal Designer accreditation and a strong understanding of the Principal Designer role in accordance with the CDM Regulations.
* A full current driving licence.
