Postdoctoral Researcher (Morgan Group), Norwich
This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Morgan Group at the John Innes Centre, working on cutting-edge science in Cell & Developmental Biology.
About the John Innes Centre
The John Innes Centre is an independent, international centre of excellence in plant and microbial sciences. We focus on fundamental questions in bioscience and translate knowledge into societal benefits. Our employees have access to state-of-the-art technology and diverse training opportunities. About the Morgan Group
The Morgan group studies meiotic recombination mechanisms, including crossover interference, using advanced imaging, genetics, genomics, and biochemistry in Arabidopsis and wheat. We collaborate with other disciplines to answer complex biological questions, as exemplified in Morgan et al. 2021, Nat Comms 12, 4674.
The Role
The successful candidate will study the biochemistry of meiotic recombination proteins in Arabidopsis, focusing on activity, targets, and oligomerisation properties to address key questions about crossover formation.
The Ideal Candidate
The candidate will use microscopy, molecular biology, and genetics to investigate the spatiotemporal localization and dynamics of recombination machinery, employing live-imaging, super-resolution microscopy, and genetic dissection techniques.
