Damp & Mould Manager
40 Hours Per Week
Circa £47,500 - £50,500 per annum
Horsham, West Sussex
Saxon Weald are recruiting for a Damp & Mould Manager to join our Homefix team on a full time, permanent basis. This is a pivotal role within the organisation, acting as a key stakeholder in the organisation's approach to managing damp, mould, and other Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) hazards. You will play a central role in ensuring Saxon Weald meet our obligations under Awaab's Law, driving high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer care.
Managing a small, team of Damp and Mould operatives, you'll work closely with contractors, property surveyors and internal teams to ensure that investigations are carried out promptly and remedial works are completed to a high standard and within legislative timescales. With a strong technical understanding, you will use systems such as Microsoft Dynamics to take a data-led approach, managing cases from initial investigation to resolution, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. You will ensure customers receive a consistently high-quality service and that learning is embedded. This is a hybrid role, however, due to the operational nature of the service, there will initially be an expectation to be in the office or on-site 4 days per week to ensure strong visibility and help build strong working relationships.
We are looking for candidates who bring a strong technical background, ideally combined with experience of managing and developing people. You will be confident operating as a key decision-maker and collaborator across the business, influencing processes, raising standards, and supporting the implementation of our strategic approach to damp and mould. You'll have excellent problem-solving skills, an analytical mindset, and a commitment to delivering safe, healthy homes for our customers.
To be successful in this role you will need to:
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of HHSRS, Awaab's law and other relevant housing legislation.
* Have experience managing and leading a team within a repairs, maintenance or construction environment.
* Be able to use data to drive continuous improvement and ensure decision making is evidence based.
* Build strong working relationships within the team, wider organisation and external stakeholders.
* Be confident in using IT systems to monitor team performance, HHSRS cases and costs.
* Have strong communication and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to tailor your communication style for different audiences and mediums.
* Hold a full UK driving license and your own vehicle.
Reasons why you should apply:
* 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays
* Excellent employer pension contributions, 3x your contributions up to 12%
* Life assurance 4x annual salary.
* Cashback on day to day medical expenses
* Leading Employee Assistance Programme, gym discounts & cycle to work scheme
* Loyalty scheme for long-serving colleagues including increased annual leave and a hamper
* Hybrid working available with a modern, recently refurbished office in Horsham
At this point, we hope you're feeling excited about what you're reading. Even if you don't feel that you meet every single requirement, or all elements of the role profile, we still encourage you to apply. We're keen to meet people that believe in our purpose and can contribute to our team in a variety of ways - not just candidates who tick all the boxes.
