We are seeking a passionate and compassionate Youth Mentor to join our team in Wolverhampton, supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to helping young people overcome challenges, build confidence, and reach their full potential. As a Youth Mentor, you will play a key role in guiding and supporting students in both their personal development and educational journey.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to young people with SEND and SEMH needs
* Support students in developing confidence, resilience, and positive social skills
* Help individuals overcome barriers to learning and personal development
* Encourage positive decision-making, goal setting, and self-belief
* Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that promotes wellbeing
* Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and external professionals to implement personalised support plans
* Deliver targeted interventions and activities focused on emotional regulation and behaviour management

What We’re Looking For
* A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEND and SEMH needs
* Excellent communication, mentoring, and relationship-building skills
* The ability to build trust and rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds
* Experience working with SEND or SEMH students in mentoring, youth work, education, or support roles (desirable)
* Empathy, patience, and resilience when working in challenging situations
* A positive and motivating approach that inspires young people to succeed
