We have the exciting opportunity for an Apprentice to join the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire (CSW) Resilience Team. As a valued member of the CSWRT you will play a crucial role in supporting emergency planning, business continuity and incident response across our combined sub-region.

The CSW Resilience Team are responsible for writing plans which help ensure that Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire councils are ready to respond to any emergencies which happen in their area. From flood response to setting up emergency rest centres, we make sure every council makes the right preparations to keep delivering their key functions during disruptions. In addition, we train staff and run regular exercises using realistic scenarios, so the councils really are ready for anything.

As our Apprentice, you will work to achieve the Business Administration Level 3 qualification that is designed to equip apprentices with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours to excel in business service roles. This will take around 18-21 months to complete and will include on the job training and onsite assessment.

This is a varied role, which will suit an adaptable, creative, and organised individual. You will have some experience of working with others and be a great team player and confident communicator.

The successful candidate will have the following:

* Minimum GCSE Grade 4 in Maths and English
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Computer literacy with competent Microsoft office skills.
* Be able to work effectively as part of a team and assist the team to achieve its deadlines.
* Be able to carry out routine and incident related administrative tasks.
* An organised approach with the ability to capture information accurately.
* The confidence to engage and communicate with a range of stakeholders.

In return, this is a hugely valued and rewarding role providing a crucial support service across the region. Working for Solihull Council as the host local authority of CSWRT means that we can also offer employees:

* Training and development opportunities.
* Flexible and agile working options, with a generous annual leave entitlement.
* Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
* An extensive wellbeing offer.
* Employee benefits including staff discounts, subsidised travel passes and Cycle 2 Work Scheme.

Due to the needs of the service, this post may involve meetings that occur outside of standard office hours. Due to the nature of the team, the incidents and meetings we may need you to support cannot always be foreseen but it is a great opportunity to use your daily skills in unusual circumstances.
