At Calrec, our audio mixing consoles are trusted by broadcasters around the world to deliver some of the biggest live sports, entertainment, and news productions. We are looking for a Product Test Engineer to join our team and help ensure our products continue to meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
No previous software testing experience is required. If you have a strong understanding of audio and a desire to learn, we will provide full training in software testing, console operation, and broadcast networking.
Responsibilities
* Testing software, firmware and hardware releases against defined requirements
* Evaluating new product features and ensuring existing functionality continues to perform as expected
* Identifying, analysing and documenting defects accurately
* Recording issues within our defect tracking systems
* Working closely with Development Engineers to investigate and resolve problems
* Verifying fixes and monitoring outstanding issues
* Providing feedback on product usability and user experience
* Producing clear test reports and communicating results to stakeholders
* Configuring test environments, hardware and operating systems as required
* Assisting in the development of test plans and test procedures
* Supporting the automation of testing activities where appropriate
* Contributing to the continuous improvement of testing processes
* Providing technical support to both internal teams and external customers
* Assisting with fault replication and troubleshooting activities
Qualifications
What we're looking for:
* A strong understanding of audio principles and signal flow
* A keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to problem solving
* Excellent communication and reporting skills
* The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
* A willingness to learn new technologies and systems
Desirable but not essential:
* Knowledge of IP networking
* Experience using professional audio equipment
* Previous testing, support or troubleshooting experience
