Senior Quantity Surveyor - Infrastructure (Permanent)

A leading UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding team on a permanent basis. The Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial performance of major civil engineering projects across Oxfordshire. You will work closely with operational, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure effective cost control, accurate reporting, and proactive contract management from pre‑construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with company commercial processes and industry standards.
Lead subcontract procurement, negotiation, and ongoing administration.
Prepare valuations, variations, and Compensation Event Quotations in line with NEC contract requirements.
Issue commercial notices to clients and subcontractors as required.
Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), forecasts, and detailed performance reports.
Maintain cost plans, monitor expenditure, and track subcontractor liabilities.
Support change management, value engineering, and risk mitigation activities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
About You
Strong background in civil engineering or infrastructure as a QS or Senior QS.
Solid working knowledge of NEC contracts.
Confident managing commercial processes on large or multiple civils schemes.
Proficient with commercial systems (Excel, CEMAR, Oracle or similar).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management.
Professional membership (MRICS/MCIOB) or working towards is desirable.
