About the role:
We’re excited to offer an opportunity for skilled and motivated Engineer's to join our Engineering team at our Lutterworth Distribution Centre. This is a pivotal role within a fast-paced, high-volume environment where engineering excellence is critical to success. Our operation handles thousands of parcels every day, and behind that performance is a team of dedicated Engineers ensuring that all Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) and site machinery operate safely, efficiently, and without interruption.
As an Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and performance of a wide range of automated and mechanical systems. You’ll be working with modern equipment in a dynamic setting where your expertise will directly impact operational efficiency, service delivery, and overall site performance. 📅 Shift Pattern: 4on 4off
🕒 Hours: 06:00am - 18:00pm or 18:00pm - 06:00am
💰 Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 dependent on skillset and experience + Overtime available
What you’ll be doing:
In this role, you’ll take ownership of ensuring that all engineering assets across the site are maintained to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise equipment downtime and extend asset lifespan
* Responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns, using your expertise to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults
* Working with a variety of automated systems, conveyors, and MHE to ensure smooth and continuous operation
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring issues and implementing long-term solutions
* Collaborating closely with operations teams to ensure minimal disruption to production and throughput
* Monitoring equipment performance and proactively identifying potential risks or failures before they occur
* Ensuring all work is completed in line with Health & Safety regulations and company standards
* Contributing to a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance across the engineering team
* Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system updates
* Supporting installations, upgrades, and modifications of equipment as required
What we need from you:
* Full right to work in the UK
* A solid engineering maintenance background with a minimum HNC, City & Guilds, or equivalent (Level 3)
* Strong experience in both mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis
* Knowledge of PLC-controlled systems, including Modicon and Siemens
* A good understanding of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices (IOSH knowledge desirable)
* BS:7671 (2382) 17th Edition wiring regulations certification
* Experience in industrial or commercial electrical installations
* Confidence using tools such as drilling and grinding equipment safely and effectively
* Welding capability (gasless MIG, steel plating)
* The physical capability to work at heights of up to 20 metres
* A team-focused mindset with strong analytical problem-solving skills
