Maintenance Officer
Working Pattern - Monday, Thursday and Friday (7.5 hours per day)
About the Role:
You’ll work as part of a supportive team, delivering high-quality maintenance, gardening, and general support services that help create a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out internal and external maintenance and repairs
2. Oversee electrical, plumbing, and alarm systems
3. Maintain and service Convent vehicles
4. Support gardening and grounds maintenance tasks
5. Escort and oversee contractors on site
6. Assist with furniture movement and general duties
7. Transport Sisters to appointments and deliver donations
8. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and report safety risks

9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
10. Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all weather
11. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the role
12. Strong communication skills and attention to detail
13. Valid UK Driving Licence (Category B)
14. Commitment to the values of Hospitality, Compassion, and Respect
Desirable Skills:
15. First Aid qualification
16. Experience with tools, machinery, and general building tasks
17. Basic IT skills and ability to complete online training
The role is subject to a successful enhanced DBS, the cost of this will be covered by SJOG.
