About the job:
SAC Consulting is seeking an experienced rural surveyor to join our Land Management team in the north of Scotland on a full-time permanent basis. You will be part of a team delivering tailored professional advice to landowners, with a strong focus on client representation in relation to large scale utilities and renewables projects. The successful candidate will be experienced in this type of work and have strong negotiation and communication skills, the ability to build good working relationships and a desire to drive the business forward.

With an existing client base of over 9,000 farmers and roots dating back to over 100 years, SAC Consulting have advisory teams in Land Management, Agri-business, Natural Capital, Food & Footprint and Arable & Livestock Management Services.
About the role:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients while providing professionally robust representation, backed by technical knowledge and expertise
Provide specific landowner advice in relation to land rights required by utility companies and developers looking to progress large scale infrastructure projects, such as new transmission lines, solar and wind farms and BESS
Negotiate commercial terms on behalf of landowners for Option agreements leading to Lease, Sale or Servitude
Negotiate compensation claims following survey and construction works
Help develop new business and grow a portfolio of work by identifying and targeting opportunities while maintaining a high level of service to existing clients
Engage with other professional advisors, including solicitors and accountants to deliver unified and client specific advice
Build and maintain a strong working network with landowners, land managers, developers and other professionals
Maintain technical expertise and business awareness through continued professional development
The work is predominantly based in the north of Scotland, however the office location is flexible.
About the applicant:
Significant practical experience in a similar advisory role in Land Management, specifically in the utilities and renewables sector
Demonstrable knowledge of compulsory purchase, necessary wayleaves, compensation and associated legislation
Track record in negotiating terms on behalf of landowners for a range of projects and up to date knowledge of commercial rates
Proven ability to manage a varied and pressured workload
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional demeanour
Full driving licence and own transport
Ideally MRICS qualified
