Security Manager Responsibilities
Here at South Thames Colleges Group, we are seeking a Security Manager to be responsible for managing the staff and systems that provide security services to our students, staff, and visitors across all of our six campuses which are located across South London. This involves leading our security teams to ensure they all provide a high quality and consistent service across our Group. You will also undertake and keep updated security risk assessments and implement improvements as necessary, monitor security systems, and ensure our security arrangements and teams operate in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Leadership & Emergency Procedures
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, you will provide leadership and direction to ensure the security team is proactive and effective in safeguarding the students, staff and visitors, review and maintain emergency response procedures, including evacuation plans, fire drills and lockdown procedures. You will be a key point of contact for security concerns, offering advice and resolution strategies to the Director of Facilities.
Qualifications
We’d like you to have excellent security management experience and be able to effectively communicate at multiple levels within and outside of the Group. Able to establish credibility with managers and understand the business need, you will be able to work individually and as part of a team.
Interview Process
Closing date for the return of completed applications is 7th November 2025.
First stage interviews will be held on Microsoft Teams on 14th November.
Second stage interviews will be held on site at Merton College on 17th November.
Due Diligence
As part of our due diligence checks on prospective employees, successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, an online search and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
