Talent Drive are exclusively supporting a FTSE100 global manufacturing business in the search for a Senior Buyer to join their growing and highly experienced procurement team based in Cheltenham.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of a broad range of direct commodities whilst playing a key role in supplier strategy, cost optimisation and supply chain improvement initiatives.
What you'll be doing:
* Managing key supplier relationships and spend categories
* Developing and implementing category and sourcing strategies
* Leading commercial negotiations and contract management activities
* Driving cost reduction and value improvement projects
* Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities
* Managing supplier performance, risk and continuity of supply
* Working closely with stakeholders across engineering, operations and supply chain functions
What we're looking for:
* Procurement experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
* Experience managing direct commodities
* Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
* Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across the business
* CIPS qualified (or working towards qualification) would be advantageous
