Lead business unit and enterprise-wide transformation and strategic initiatives
At Aurizon, we’re committed to shaping a high-performing, future-ready workforce. We’re seeking a Principal People & Development professional to lead large-scale, enterprise-wide initiatives that deliver meaningful and measurable business outcomes.
This is a project-led role, focused on designing and delivering strategic people programs — not traditional HR partnering.
About the role
This role sits at the centre of Aurizon’s most critical people initiatives — leading the design, delivery and execution of enterprise-wide transformation programs.
You will take ownership of complex, interdependent projects and work across the organisation to deliver outcomes aligned to business priorities, using data-driven insights and contemporary organisational practices.
Key responsibilities
* Lead the design and end-to-end delivery of enterprise-wide people initiatives and transformation programs
* Deliver strategic projects aligned to priority business objectives across multiple business units
* Identify business challenges and develop fit-for-purpose people solutions that drive measurable outcomes
* Apply data and insights to inform project design, decision-making and evaluation of outcomes
* Drive innovation across workforce planning, talent and organisational development initiatives
* Lead and coordinate complex change and transformation programs, ensuring successful implementation and adoption
* Work across specialist and broader teams to deliver priorities, depending on initiative requirements
About you
You’re a strategic project leader with the ability to take enterprise initiatives from concept to delivery.
You’ll bring:
* Proven experience leading large-scale, complex projects or transformation programs in HR or organisational environments
* Strong capability in change management and program delivery
* The ability to translate business needs into practical, structured solutions and deliverables
* Advanced analytical skills, with confidence using data to influence decisions and measure outcomes
* A background in HR, organisational development or related discipline (preferred)
* Experience working across complex or large-scale organisations (heavy industry experience advantageous)
