Job Purpose / Summary

Knowlton & Newman part of the Rubix Group are a well established 24/7 electrical and mechanical engineering services Company operating out of three branches in the south of England. We have a wide customer base and typically repair, overhaul and install pumps, motors and gearboxes.
The purpose of the role is to operate various machine tools to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies to meet job specifications to the satisfaction of the customer and the management team. Specifically, working on the following machines, lathes, milling machines, radial drills, balancing machines. To assist in fitting duties when required.
Hours: 8 am to 4 pm; Monday to Friday; 35 hours a week – reasonable over time expected to be worked.
Key Responsibilities
Main Tasks and Deliverables:
•Perform milling operations such as drilling, tapping, boring and conventional lathe and milling work.
•Perform various metallising techniques as required.
•Balance mechanical assemblies using dynamic balancing equipment.
•Use hand-held and stationary power and non-power tools.
•Record all data necessary to produce expected service or design results.
•Maintain machines in good working order and report any defects to management.
•Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
•Undertake mechanical fitting work in the workshop and on customer sites when required.
•Keep work area neat and tidy.
•Follow all company health and safety procedures and wear the correct PPE.
•Carry out any other reasonable request.
Skills and Experience
•Must have experience of manual machining.
•Must be flexible and willing to work additional hours when required and be part of the call out rota.
•Must be able to work to tight deadlines.
•Must be a good team player but also able to work using your own initiative.
