National Operation Room – Full Time Operational Support Coordinator
Location: Norwich
Hourly / Salary Rate: £41,.40
Position: NSOR Operational Support Coordinator
Hours: 50 hours per week - 07:00 – 17:00
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong proficiency with computers, security systems, and digital tools, with the ability to quickly adopt new platforms. CCTV control room experience and a CCTV licence are advantageous but not required.
Position Overview
This role provides essential operational support to the National Security Operations Room by managing documentation, maintaining data accuracy, coordinating system tasks, and supporting key workflows to ensure effective communication and operational continuity.
The position plays a vital part in safeguarding people, assets, and operations by upholding regulatory and corporate standards and consistently delivering high‑quality service.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
1. Review, update, and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and support monthly audits and operational documentation.
2. Provide technical and systems support, including system set‑ups, telephony issues, radio maintenance, critical system tests, and IT access requests.
3. Manage Lone Worker device stock, including allocation, user management, and distribution.
4. Prepare Travel Security Plans, maintain traveller and flight/check‑call trackers, and update records as required.
5. Conduct CCTV reviews, process data requests, and share footage securely.
6. Administer seized assets, lost property, and other operational records.
7. Raise, monitor, and close ServiceNow tickets and participate in related team updates.
8. Provide general operational support including postal liaison, stationery coordination, and assistance with onsite activities.
9. Support recruitment processes such as scheduling interviews.
10. Assist with disaster recovery and operational resilience planning alongside relevant teams.
11. Complete additional tasks to support overall operational effectiveness.
12. On occasions you may be asked to work additional hours or at alternative locations if required.
These responsibilities are not exhaustive and may be expanded to meet evolving operational needs within the business.
Security & Risk Management
You may be required to support with the following duties:
13. Monitor security systems, including CCTV, Gemini alarms, and Genetec platforms.
14. Complete scheduled security checks such as panic alarms, fire doors, intruder systems, lock/unlock reports, and disaster recovery equipment tests.
15. Support operational continuity by monitoring manning levels and producing daily travel, weather, and staffing updates.
16. Conduct radio checks to ensure communication readiness.
17. Monitor UK travel disruptions, global incident alerts, VIP travel schedules, and conduct traveller check calls.
18. Coordinate, log, and escalate estate issues such as leaks, floods, alarms, unauthorised access, and system faults.
19. Conduct information‑based monitoring to identify potential risks, threats, or operational disruptions.
20. Respond to incidents in line with procedures, escalating appropriately and maintaining accurate incident records.
21. Demonstrate professionalism and composure during incidents to support the protection of people, assets, and operations.
22. Follow all scheduled communication protocols and check‑ins to maintain operational integrity.
Training & Professional Development
23. Maintain all required licences and certifications—such as Security Guarding/Door Supervision, First Aid at Work, and CCTV PSS SIA—and complete all mandatory training to ensure they remain current.
24. Engage in continuous professional development to enhance job knowledge and operational capability.
25. Use technology effectively to support work objectives and maintain accurate records.
Candidate Profile
26. Highly proficient with computers, security systems, and digital tools, with the ability to learn new platforms quickly and use technology confidently.
27. Strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and commitment to compliance and ethical standards.
28. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills, with a clear understanding of the role's purpose and environment.
29. Professional, reliable, and presents themselves to a high standard.
30. Proven experience within the security sector, ideally in corporate or financial services environments.
31. Current SIA Licence (Security Guarding/Door Supervision) required, CCTV PSS licence desirable.
