Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our friendly support team in the Haematology/Transfusion Department at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital and Burnley General Teaching Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Perform technical and scientific processes within the Haematology/Transfusion discipline to support the BMS staff.
* Receipt and recording of samples (blood transfusion).
* Perform sample analysis using the department's automated analysers.
* Troubleshoot and maintain analysis equipment.
* Run quality control processes.
* Support BMS staff to aid in the diagnosis of haematological disorders and transfusion-related complications.
* Follow the department's written procedures (SOPs).
Notes
Candidates who were interviewed in the previous week will not be considered for this current round of interviews.
Requirements and Conditions
* Full training will be provided; any previous laboratory experience will be an advantage.
* The post is full time (37.5 hours per week).
* A flexible working approach is required with a roster that includes days, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
