Location: Ellesmere Port, Cheshire
Salary: £95 - £110 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: [Full-time and Part-time]

Job Purpose
To provide dedicated support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access learning, develop independence, and reach their full potential within a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEND
* Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning plans tailored to individual needs
* Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
* Adapt learning materials and activities to meet specific needs
* Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals where required
* Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff
* Promote positive behaviour and implement behaviour support strategies
* Support pupils with personal care where necessary
* Encourage independence and confidence in learning and social situations
Person SpecificationEssential Requirements
* Experience working with children with SEND (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills (GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths)
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable
* Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3)
* Additional training in SEND (e.g. Autism Awareness, Team Teach, or behavioural support)
* Experience working within a primary or secondary school setting
