Fixed‑term maternity cover based in Eastbourne. The role involves hybrid working (home and community‑based) and occasional travel across East Sussex.

Who we’re looking for
Passionate about community development, naturally good at building connections, highly organised, excellent communicator (written and verbal), collaborative, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong understanding of the voluntary and community sector, including relevant policies and frameworks
* Proven experience managing projects from concept to delivery
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage and influence stakeholders
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Confident user of Microsoft Office Suite and digital tools
* Full UK driving licence and access to transport (travel across East Sussex required)
What will your role look like?
* Develop and deliver community networks, both in‑person and online
* Provide support and training on governance, funding, evaluation, and volunteering
* Build and maintain strong relationships with local organisations and statutory partners
* Identify community needs and facilitate engagement opportunities
* Manage and distribute around £10,000 annually in community funding
* Support programmes such as Beachy Head Ambassadors, Homes for Ukraine, Wealden Food Partnership, and Lewes District Cost of Living initiatives
* Contribute to strategic planning, consultations, and reporting
* Represent the organisation at local meetings and events
