Salford Information, Advice and Support Service (SIASS) provides free, independent and impartial advice to children, young people and families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We work closely with education, health and social care partners to ensure families feel informed, confident and supported. Our focus is on promoting inclusion, empowering voices and improving outcomes, ensuring children, young people and families can actively participate in decisions about their support and future.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to support children, young people and families by providing clear, accessible advice and practical support around SEND. You will help families understand their rights, navigate complex processes and feel confident in decision-making. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to a person‑centred, joined‑up service that values lived experience and delivers real impact. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference and amplifying the voices of children, young people and families.
About you
You are a compassionate and motivated individual with experience of working with children, young people or families. You communicate information clearly and sensitively, building trust and positive relationships. You value inclusion, fairness and respect, and are committed to supporting people to feel heard and empowered. You bring a collaborative approach, good organisational skills and a willingness to learn, particularly around SEND legislation and practice. Most importantly, you are passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
