Overview
Are you a dedicated nurse passionate about paediatric care and clinical research? Join University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust as a Paediatric Research Nurse and help advance innovative research that improves outcomes for children and their families. In this important role, you will identify and recruit eligible paediatric patients, obtain informed consent, collect and manage accurate clinical data, and ensure full compliance with research protocols and ethical guidelines. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred research.
Responsibilities
* Engage sensitively with children and families to explain research participation
* Recruit patients and obtain consent in line with ethical standards
* Collect, record, and manage clinical data meticulously
* Collaborate with clinical and research teams to facilitate study progress
* Monitor patient safety and welfare throughout research involvement
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with paediatric experience
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* Attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team
* Empathy, patience, and professionalism in family engagement
* Strong commitment to research integrity and compassionate care
In addition, the role requires a commitment to upholding research integrity and delivering patient-centred care. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate research activities, ensure patient safety, and support families through the research process with empathy and clear communication. You will monitor participants’ progress and maintain meticulous documentation to support regulatory and governance requirements.
