Reporting to the UK Director of Operations and UK Aviation Operations Manager, the Station Manager for Birmingham and East Midlands Airports is accountable for the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of World Fuel’ physical aviation fuel operations within the assigned locations. The role has full responsibility for day‑to‑day operational management, safety leadership, asset oversight, and staff management, ensuring compliance with regulatory, environmental, and industry standards while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead and implement QHSE policies, standards, and processes across designated aviation fuel operations. Ensure full compliance with JIG standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements. Manage physical assets, into‑plane operations, storage facilities, and operational staff to achieve best‑in‑class safety and performance. Provide strong leadership, coaching, training, and development to operational teams. Oversee day‑to‑day operations including maintenance, OPEX control, and aviation fuel stock management. Support the UK Operations Manager in facilitating business growth while maintaining operational integrity. Ensure all materials, services, and purchase requests comply with approved Delegations of Authority. Review and approve site-based purchase requests, overtime, and monthly KPI reports. Maintain the highest standards of product quality across all operating locations. Deliver customer service in line with contractual agreements. Conduct regular performance reviews and support the career development of direct reports. Act as the senior World Fuel representative at BHX and EMA, liaising with: Airport authorities Airline, general aviation, and military customers Joint Venture partners and external stakeholders Key Performance Indicators Successful delivery of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) KPIs Achievement of Operational performance KPIs Effective implementation and maintenance of the training and competence programme Candidate Profile Education Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A–C or equivalent) including Maths and English (essential) A‑Level education or University Degree (desirbale) Experience Minimum 5 years’ experience within the aviation fuels sector At least 2 years’ experience managing personnel and operations Proven experience managing into‑plane refuelling operations Technical Skills & Knowledge Essential Experience leading aviation refuelling operations to JIG standards Budget and cost management experience within aviation fuel operations HGV Class 1 (CE) licence Strong understanding of operational risk, safety, and compliance Desirable Formal QHSE qualification Working knowledge of Fuel Management Systems Experience with risk assessments and risk management Language Fluent English (spoken and written) Additional Information This role may require flexibility to meet operational demands.
