ASSIST Sheffield is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Casework Coordinator to help us meet clients’ needs in a trauma-informed and efficient way.
You will be working closely with our Client Support Manager (CSM), Client Support and Engagement Worker (CSEW) and volunteers within the Client Support Service (CSS). You will also interact with our Welfare, Interpreting & Accompanying volunteer teams, as well as the Accommodation service.
With the support of the CSS team, you will have responsibility for the coordination of casework support for all ASSIST clients, and have an allocated caseload of clients with varying levels of support needs.
You will be supervising and supporting volunteer Caseworkers and the CSEW during two casework sessions a week.
You will work closely with external agencies such as South Yorkshire Refugee Law & Justice (SYRLJ) to improve referral pathways and help maintain positive external relationships.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Casework Service Coordination
Coordination of the casework service within the CSS; maintain a broad overview of all client's circumstances and know who is leading each case. Ensure all clients have a support plan in place.
Manage casework appointments and volunteer rotas for each casework session (Tuesdays and Thursdays - 9.15am - 1.30pm).
Train and support paid CSEW.
To staff and supervise the casework element of Welfare Sessions and arrange cover when not present.
Maintain good communication with casework volunteers regarding the casework service including developments, best practice, changes, training and opportunities at ASSIST.
Administrative support to meet service needs, including maintaining rigorous client records and updating signposting resources
The recruiting, training and inducting of Casework volunteers with support from the Volunteering Coordinator. Including having responsibility for the casework content of any training and induction process.
Supervising volunteers and supporting the Caseworker during face-to-face casework sessions. Running briefings and debriefs, providing space for reflection and support.
Hold group or one-to-one supervisions for volunteers on a termly basis, including periodic file reviews to identify gaps in knowledge and training needs and pass this info on to CSM.
Providing Casework Support
Undertake casework for high-tier and complex cases, with the support of volunteers. Carrying out follow up and ad-hoc casework and delegating to volunteers, where appropriate.
Hold appointments with your caseload of clients outside of casework session times, as appropriate.
Ensuring client records are kept up-to-date and supporting volunteers to maintain accurate records on our case management system in line with ASSIST guidelines and policies.
Model anti-oppressive, trauma-informed practice in your work.
Safeguarding
Attend bi-weekly Client Care safeguarding meetings.
Take responsibility for raising safeguarding concerns to the team.
Be the first point of contact for sense checking safeguarding concerns from the casework team.
Service Development
Supporting the CSM to ensure high quality and standardised service is provided to clients; and recommending service improvements where appropriate.
Work closely with the CSM to implement our 3-stage journey model (Stabilise, Future Plan, Move on) of service delivery across the Casework service.
To attend development meetings when asked and feed in ideas and reflections for service enhancement.
External partnership working with other agencies to continue to improve communication and referral pathways.
Responsible for communications with clients in relation to accessing the CSS casework service
Monitoring & Evaluation
Responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of the casework service.
Provide monthly client statistics and narrative reports to CSM.
Gather qualitative and quantitative data for grants, reports, and annual reviews where required by the service.
