Job Description · To report to duty punctually, in order to maintain the integrity of co-workers and guests · To consistently offer personal and friendly service · To have full knowledge of the menu, beverage lists in your outlet and all other special promotions taking place in the hotel · To ensure that the host stand is kept neat and clean at all times · To have a complete understanding of your daily duties (seating and greeting guests, accurately taking reservations, handling phones, menu changeovers, newspaper pickup, checking mail, filing log book entries etc.) · To efficiently track all covers in the dining room per station and have general knowledge of the union agreement · To help guests meet their colleagues by properly using the waiting list form · To attend all pre-shift, weekly and monthly meetings to ensure open lines of communication between all employees · To actively participate in the health and safety procedures as a way to reduce workplace related accidents · To have read and understood all hotel policies and procedures and departmental standards as outlined in the employee handbook · To carry out any miscellaneous duties pertaining to the total operation of the outlet as requested by your direct supervisor · To feel comfortable with voicing opinions, suggestions and comments on improving the operation of the Restaurant and ways to improve the guests experience · To maintain teamwork and good work ethics with all guest (internal and external) by assisting co-workers with any duties, without compromising the guests’ dining experience · To complete all duties assigned to you before leaving for the day · To communicate effectively with the servers regarding reservations, last minute changes, larger parties and special requests · To offer guests coat check when necessary and retrieve guest coats when departing · To up-sell the buffet bar whenever present Qualifications · Previous work experience in a restaurant/food and beverage setting · Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude · Multi tasked when dealing with high volume of guest requests · Excellent Computer skills · Must be available to work various shifts including weekends and holidays Additional Information Visa Requirements: Must provide proof of eligibility to work in Canada.
