Main Duties
In your new role as a Porter, you will assist with the delivery and physical set-up and taking down of all furniture and equipment for meetings and events where necessary, including adjusting meeting rooms and furniture layouts to suit user requirements. You will undertake duties allocated through the helpdesk in a timely manner and assist in keeping the site clean and tidy, ensuring that the exterior of the buildings is maintained to a high standard and that pathways are always kept clear. Your responsibilities will include receiving deliveries of heavy or large loads as required and distributing items accordingly. You will also be required to complete basic maintenance tasks across the site, including but not limited to minor repairs, minor plumbing, and painting and decorating. In addition, you will observe local security measures in line with client policies and remain flexible in your approach to work patterns, systems, and locations to maintain the standards required by the client. You will complete safety walks and report any concerns to the Facilities Manager, while also being proactive in carrying out all duties and highlighting areas for improvement. You must adhere to any reasonable management requests from your line manager or client contact. Please note that you will need to be a British National or naturalised UK citizen, have no previous convictions, and be willing to undertake an intrusive clearance process. This role involves shift work, with early shifts starting at 06:00 and later shifts starting at 09:30.

The ideal candidate will preferably have previous experience working in a similar role or environment and will be experienced in lifting and handling furniture and equipment. You will be customer service-oriented and a strong team player, demonstrating an energized attitude at all times. As a strong communicator, you will present yourself in a well-groomed and professional manner. Additionally, you must be hands-on in your approach and willing to learn new tasks as required.
