A leading UK insurance business is seeking a UK Commercial Claims Operations Manager to drive operational excellence and elevate its commercial claims function. This is a senior role reporting to the leadership team, overseeing delegated authorities, MI/reporting, workflow management, and continuous improvement across the UK commercial claims organisation.
You’ll lead a centralised, multi-disciplinary claims operations team and be a key partner to underwriting, brokers, and other business functions, ensuring outstanding service delivery and operational performance in a commercial insurance environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a high-performing commercial claims operations team
* Oversee claims administration, workflow management, and SLA adherence across commercial lines
* Drive operational performance, governance, process improvement, and resource planning
* Own MI & data reporting across commercial claims (weekly/monthly dashboards, KPIs, DA performance)
* Manage delegated authority oversight, ensuring control, compliance, and quality
* Implement audit programmes and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer and broker experience
* Partner with senior leadership on firm-wide initiatives, regulatory programmes, and operational strategy

* Proven people leadership and team development capability
* Track record of driving operational change, efficiency, and process improvement
* Solid MI/data reporting skills with a metrics-driven approach
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including interaction with brokers and underwriters
* A genuine focus on improving service delivery and claims outcomes in a commercial insurance context
