Reeson Education is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in the SK5 area. This full-time, long-term Teaching Assistant role will begin in September 2025, supporting a LKS class.
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in delivering classroom support, providing small group interventions, and assisting children who are working below age-related expectations. You'll also be supporting pupils with SEND and offering tailored help to meet their individual needs.
The school has a vibrant, child-centred ethos with a supportive leadership team and a focus on inclusion and well-being. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Teaching Assistant who is confident in leading small groups and adapting to the evolving needs of a busy classroom.
Teaching Assistant - What You'll Be Doing:
1. Supporting pupils in LKS2 as a Teaching Assistant, including those with SEN
2. Delivering group interventions in literacy, numeracy, and catch-up sessions
3. Offering one-to-one support for children with additional needs
4. Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparation, and classroom organisation
5. Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation as a Teaching Assistant
6. Supporting the development of classroom displays and learning resources
7. Helping children with transitions between activities and lessons
8. Building positive, supportive relationships with pupils and staff
9. Carrying out assessments and reporting progress when required
10. Ensuring the classroom is a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning space
11. Working closely with the SENCO and other professionals as a Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant - What We're Looking For:
12. Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a primary setting
13. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) preferred
14. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
15. Ability to adapt to the needs of individual learners and situations
16. Enthusiasm, initiative, and a genuine passion for supporting children
17. A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
18. DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
19. Full-time availability from September
