We have an opportunity for an experienced Technician to join our team in the Yorkshire North East Region. As a Technician, you will work alongside professional Engineers, supporting the development and delivery of a wide variety of Renewal and Improvement schemes to ensure the Strategic Road Network safely meets customer requirements now and into the future.
During the planning and development stages of projects, you will support the identification and development of early solutions for highways assets, collaborating with project teams and third parties to coordinate works across the region and provide technical support as needed.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply and develop your engineering and asset management skills within a progressive organization investing billions across the strategic road network.
You will be required to drive as part of your role and must have a full driving licence with no more than 3 points to be considered.
* Support in the identification and management of asset studies and survey works.
* Assist in identifying and evaluating asset-specific needs for future maintenance and renewals.
* Contribute to developing early solutions for renewals, including preparing relevant documents, evidence, and options according to methodologies and prioritization criteria.
* Support the development of technical briefs for renewals work provided to design and construction contractors.
* Help in capturing and maintaining roads asset data and condition information in relevant databases.
About you:
* Level 3 Qualification, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent.
* Knowledge of Design Manual for Road & Bridges standards for Road Lighting and their application.
* Good understanding of highways assets lighting and electrical installations, including asset condition assessment.
* Understanding of value management process and cost-benefit analysis of schemes.
* Experience in infrastructure design or traffic engineering, with knowledge of CDM 2015 and BS7671 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
