Job Title: Assistant Category Manager - Solar PV
Join our dynamic and commercial team as an Assistant Category Manager, focusing on Solar PV. You will develop and implement a leading product range, aiming to maximize market share and meet business targets in margin, revenue, and customer acquisition. Building strong supplier relationships and executing innovative propositions through branches and sales teams will be key responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategy Development: Define and execute a market-leading category strategy for Solar PV, including proposition, pricing, promotional plans, and product range.
2. Performance Monitoring: Review weekly trading performance, identify opportunities or issues, and take corrective actions.
3. Supplier and Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain regular contact with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support category and commercial team goals.
4. Market and Stock Management: Optimize routes to market, manage stock levels, and ensure stock health aligns with business objectives.
5. Market Presence: Develop a strong presence in-store and within Solar Hubs, collaborating with operational teams.
6. Sales Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Solar Sales Team to understand customer needs and support growth initiatives.
7. Pricing and Promotion: Collaborate with the Pricing and Marketing teams to manage pricing strategies and promotional campaigns.
8. Negotiations and Projects: Negotiate with suppliers and lead projects to deliver key business initiatives.
Additional Details
This role offers hybrid working with flexibility to work from home two days a week. Candidates should be within commuting distance of our Crick, Northamptonshire office.
Candidate Profile
* Experience in Category, Buying, or Procurement roles
* Strong negotiation and communication skills
* Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently
* Proficient in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets)
* Experience in Solar or Electric Ranges is preferred
Relevant Background
Ideal candidates may have worked in Buying, Procurement, Category Management, or related fields within Building, Construction, Retail, FMCG, Manufacturing, or Mechanical sectors.
