Kitchen staff role at J D Wetherspoon, The Paddle Steamer, Largs. The ideal applicant is fun, enthusiastic and passionate, with a good attitude and willingness to learn. No experience is required, just a calm head under pressure and the ability to work as part of a team. We offer training and development as part of our award-winning programme.
Responsibilities
* Preparing, cooking and presenting food to the correct specification
* Operating kitchen work stations, including grills, fryers, microwaves and more
* Working as a team to maintain time and quality targets
* Following food hygiene, allergen, and health and safety standards
* Cleaning as you go and during full kitchen clean-downs
* Rotating stock and storing food safely
* Completing required induction, role-specific and refresher training and contributing to continuous improvement
Progression and development
Most Wetherspoon team leaders and managers started in the kitchen or behind the bar. We support development with:
* Structured on-the-job training
* Apprenticeships and management academies
* Cross-training into other areas (bar, floor, hotel)
* Opportunities to move into team-leader, kitchen-shift-leader and pub-manager roles
Hours and shifts
* Hours per week: 25
* Shifts: Flexible mornings, evenings, weekends and late finishes
* Typical daily hours: 00:30 (example per day listings in original)
