About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced Service Operations Manager to lead and oversee an adult social care services based in Bangor, Northern Ireland.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that may challenge. You will provide strategic and operational leadership to multidisciplinary teams, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant service delivery with a strong focus on Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and trauma-informed practice.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide strong leadership to deliver high-quality, person-centred services with measurable outcomes
2. Lead, manage, and support multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and holistic care
3. Embed Positive Behaviour Support and trauma-informed practice across services
4. Ensure regulatory compliance (including RQIA) through audits, quality reviews, and continuous improvement
5. Manage budgets, staffing models, and resources to ensure safe and sustainable operations
6. Build a high-performance culture through supervision, coaching, and reflective practice
7. Lead safeguarding, risk management, and crisis response processes
8. Act as a key point of contact for families, commissioners, and partner agencies
9. Represent the service professionally and advocate for people supported
Essential Criteria
10. Significant leadership experience within supported living or adult social care services
11. QCF Level 5 / NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care Management (or equivalent)
12. Eligible for NISCC registration and Enhanced Access NI clearance
13. Strong working knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support and trauma-informed approaches
14. Proven experience in people management, supervision, and workforce planning
15. Sound financial and resource management skills
16. Excellent communication, judgement, and decision-making abilities
17. In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and incident management
18. Strong understanding of regulatory standards and inspection readiness
19. Full UK driving licence (desirable)
Qualification & Experience Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following:
Option 1
20. Professional social work qualification (NISCC registered), or
21. Registered nurse (NMC), or
22. Registered allied health professional (HCPC),
AND
23. Minimum 4 years' experience in health or social care
24. At least 2 years in a relevant operational management role
OR
Option 2
25. QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults' Management - Wales & NI)
AND
26. Minimum 5 years' experience in health or social care
27. At least 2 years in an operational management role
