As Shift Leader, you will work with the Branch Leadership Team and colleagues to support the Area Manager in ensuring that your branch is Health, Safe and Legal at all times, maximising efficiency, availability, and delivering excellent service to our customers.
This is a fast-moving, challenging role that offers great exposure to our vibrant customer base, allowing you to have a direct influence on the service we provide.

Your responsibilities include:
1. Opening, closing, and managing the complete operational running of the branch, making decisions prioritising health and safety for customers and colleagues, and taking the lead in the absence of the Area Manager.
2. Supporting a Health, Safe and Legal culture by ensuring all colleagues are informed of H&S and Security updates.
3. Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
4. Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and mandatory training.
5. Leading by example by role-modeling the Code of Business Conduct and Win Together Behaviours.
6. Living the PRIDE values in the branch and focusing on delivering great availability and service.
7. Supporting colleagues during their induction and training.
8. Building and maintaining positive internal and external relationships.
9. Championing Diversity and Inclusion to ensure Everyone Is Welcome at Booker.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
1. Excellent communication skills, with experience in supervising or managing a team.
2. A proven track record of coaching, motivating, guiding a team, and holding people accountable for delivering great service.
3. Flexibility and adaptability, with strong problem-solving skills.
4. Practical experience in the retail/wholesale trade.
