To be a member of the Community Safety team, tackling anti‑social behaviour throughout the Ards and North Down Borough. Please refer to the Council website for a full description of the duties.
Responsibilities
* Deal with service requests and enquiries from the public and other agencies on all matters relating to the functions of the section. Maintaining records, accounts and compiling statistical returns and other reports.
* Form and support user/focus groups, attend and contribute to public meetings. Provide information, guidance and training to users and report on the same.
* Encourage, implement and support an interagency problem‑solving approach, liaising with the PSNI, Council Departments, Community Safety Partnerships, NI Housing Executive and any other relevant bodies.
* Create, develop, produce and deliver the Council’s educational programmes, publicity materials, special projects and events. Also to review and update these programmes where necessary.
Skills and Qualifications
* 2 GCE ‘A’ levels or equivalent.
* At least 2 years relevant face‑to‑face enforcement experience using a graduated response.
* Experience in developing and delivering educational programmes/presentations.
* Experience of using IT systems.
* A valid driving licence and access to suitable transport that will enable the post holder to meet the requirements of the post.
* Must consent to a pre‑employment Access NI check.
* Able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required and adopt a flexible approach to working hours in line with operational requirements.
* Experience in project management.
* Experience in working with community/voluntary groups and committees.
