Service & Commissioning EngineerLocation: ChesterAre you confident fault-finding on complex instrumentation?Do you enjoy a mix of lab-based work and site commissioning?Looking for a role where no two days are the same?What's in it for you£43,000 salary25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysLife InsurancePension: 4% Employee and 5% EmployerPrivate Health Care (employee only)Long Service Annual Leave AccrualOvertime where applicableWhat will you be doing?Provide technical support to clients and service engineers via phone and emailCalibrate, repair and service systems, mainly GC instrumentationPrepare test equipment and support FATs with clients presentAssist with pre-commissioning and commissioning activities on-site and in-houseDeliver remote support for reactive maintenanceStrip down and overhaul gas analysers, regulators and control valvesCarry out PLC/flow computer programming, configuration and fault findingCompile reports and documentation for all customer activitiesSupport technically complex customer orders and internal teamsJoin a 24/7 helpline rota once trainedWhere you'll be doing itYou'll be working for a specialist engineering business supporting customers across the gas and instrumentation sector. The role combines laboratory work with occasional site visits, offering a varied and hands-on environment.What you'll needMinimum 2 years' experience in a technical role within the gas industryExperience or knowledge of PLCsStrong fault-finding and diagnostic skillsGood communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to prioritise work and meet deadlinesHNC/HND in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering (or similar experience)GCSEs including Maths, English and ScienceComfortable using Microsoft OfficeDesirable:Experience with odourisation systems or chromatography18th Edition / Inspection & Test / CompexProject or order management experienceWe appreciate your CV may not be up to date.
