We have an exciting opportunity at our Openshaw Campus in Manchester to join our Sport Public Services & Care Professions Department as a Health & Social Care Teacher on a permanent, part time (21 hours per week) basis.

We welcome applications from aspiring teachers who are passionate about sharing their industry skills. At The Manchester College, you will be supported by our Teaching Academy to work towards qualified teacher status for post 16 compulsory education, through a Cert Ed/PGCE. This includes 3-4 hours delivery per week and engagement with a mentor to support your progress in the profession while you work. The starting salary for an unqualified teacher is between £28,300.00 – £30,307.50*. It’s a great way to kick-start a rewarding career with full training and support. Once you’ve successfully qualified and demonstrated your teaching competence, you’ll progress to the qualified teacher salary banding.
*Consideration will be given to relevant industry experience and skills with the flexibility to offer increased starting salaries in some circumstances*

Role Responsibilities
As directed by the Head of Department and working with your Course Leader you will provide supervision of your curriculum area ensuring that you meet budget, quality and operational targets. You will deliver high quality, student focused education to meet contractual requirements and standards, in line with TMC policies and procedures.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you wil need:
* Certificate of education or PGCE
* Current and valid industry specialism
* Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation)
* English and maths minimum level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above
