We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Trainee Children’s Home Manager to join our team and develop into a leadership role within our residential children’s service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional who is ready to take the next step toward management while receiving structured training, mentoring, and professional development. You will work alongside the Registered Manager to learn how to lead a children’s home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the children’s home
* Assist in leading, supervising, and developing the staff team
* Promote a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people
* Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and placement plans are implemented effectively
* Support with safeguarding, incident management, and regulatory compliance
* Participate in recruitment, training, and staff development
* Build positive relationships with young people, families, and external professionals
* Help ensure the home meets and exceeds regulatory and quality standards
Essential Qualifications
* Experience working in a residential children’s home or similar childcare setting
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
* Excellent communication and leadership potential
* Commitment to completing further management qualifications
Desirable Qualifications
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
* Experience supervising or mentoring staff
* Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and inspection standards
