Cloud Engineer (Azure) - Contract Location: Kensington (Onsite 2-3 days per week) Duration: 3 months (with potential 3-month extension) Rate: Up to £600/day (Inside IR35 - via Umbrella)
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure to support and enhance cloud infrastructure services. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-availability cloud solutions, working closely with technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud infrastructure, including networking and security.
* Implement and support Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
* Manage and support Microsoft Exchange in a cloud-based setup.
* Configure and maintain secure file transfer (sFTP) solutions in Azure.
* Develop and manage SSIS integrations for data workflows.
* Administer, optimize, and support SQL databases hosted in Azure.
* Configure and manage Palo Alto Firewalls to ensure secure connectivity and compliance.
* Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud solutions aligned with business needs.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience working as a Cloud Engineer or similar role.
* Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including networking and security best practices.
* Experience supporting AVD, Exchange, sFTP, and SSIS within Azure.
* Solid experience in Azure SQL database administration.
* Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewall configuration and management.
* Strong understanding of cloud architecture, automation, and integrations.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills
* Experience with PowerShell Scripting or automation tools.
* Knowledge of Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
* Familiarity with cloud monitoring and alerting tools.
Certifications (Preferred)
* Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
* Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
