Urology Clinical Administrative Officer

We are currently looking to appoint a Clinical Administration Officer (CAO) to work in the Surgical Division working 37.5 hours per week.
The successful candidate must be customer focused, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure are essential requirements together with great attention to detail for ensuring data is recorded accurately.
To be successful in this role you will possess English and Maths GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent), excellent IT skills and relevant office/secretarial experience.
Knowledge of medical terminology, customer care and previous NHS experience are also desirable.
Please note this role does not meet the Home Office criteria for the Trust to be able to offer a certificate of sponsorship, any applications that require sponsorship will not be considered.
Main duties of the job
The main emphasis of this role is to provide a range of administrative support to Consultants, medical staff and/or other senior members of the Divisional teams. This is achieved by operating relevant IT applications as required, ensuring targets are met and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Duties will include audio typing, receiving patient queries and actioning appropriately, booking relevant appointments, and actioning complex instructions from clinical staff and/or other designated senior staff as appropriate.

Qualifications & Training
* Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent), to include English grade C or above
* RSA III (or equivalent) Typing/Word Processing
* Familiar with Microsoft Office based computer packages, including email and internet
* ECDL
* Shorthand skills
* Any office-based training such as NVQ
* Medical terminology
* Audio typing RSA Stage II (or equivalent)
Experience
* Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Previous office/secretarial experience
* Previous NHS experience
* Previous knowledge of hospital PAS systems
