We are looking for a Spatial Capture Lead to establish and lead LIVE·TEAM’s new Spatial Capture capability.
What You Will Be Doing
* Lead the day‑to‑day operation of the Spatial Capture team, including the Reality Capture Technician and CAD/Output & QA Technician.
* Own the end‑to‑end workflow from request intake and method selection through to delivery, QA, packaging, and feedback.
* Decide the right capture approach for each use case, including FARO, mobile photogrammetry, phone/tablet LiDAR, 360 capture, and future complementary methods.
* Set and maintain standards for capture playbooks, file structure, QA, output packs, naming conventions, and handoff processes.
* Review project requests and work with internal teams to define scope, outputs, timelines, risks, and resourcing requirements.
* Support proposals, RFPs, pricing, estimates, and solution design by advising on feasibility, workflow, delivery approach, and likely output value.
* Work closely with Design, Creative, CS, Sales, Fabrication, Operations, and Technical Innovation to ensure outputs are fit for purpose and commercially useful.
* Attend selected site visits, client meetings, and internal planning sessions where technical input or departmental representation is needed.
* Provide technical oversight and QA sign‑off on delivered outputs, including orthophotos, CAD‑ready bases, point‑cloud outputs, lightweight 3D assets, panoramas, and digital‑twin‑ready packages.
* Help shape how scan‑derived data can support LIVE·TEAM’s evolving internal workflow and operational platform, Quest/Quest X and future AI‑enabled processes.
* Own the definition, establishment and assurance of measurement output standards (including 2D CAD and reporting) as a core service offering.
* Ensure outputs are fit for planning, artwork placement, technical decision making, and job quoting.
* Track new tools, workflows, and standards across reality capture, digital twins, photogrammetry, immersive environments, and virtual production‑adjacent workflows, and recommend where LIVE·TEAM should experiment next.
* Lead PoCs and evaluations of complementary tools such as RealityScan and related capture/visualisation technologies, ensuring the department remains vendor‑flexible rather than vendor‑dependent.
* Mentor and develop the team, creating a culture of technical quality, practical problem‑solving, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
The Skills And Experience You Need
* Strong experience in reality capture, spatial data, photogrammetry, laser scanning, digital surveying, digital twins, or closely related workflows.
* Proven ability to lead projects or small teams across capture, processing, quality control, and delivery.
* Experience selecting the right capture and output approach for different environments and use cases, rather than relying on one tool for everything.
* Good working knowledge of point clouds, orthophotos, CAD‑ready outputs, lightweight 3D assets, and how scan‑derived data supports planning, design, fabrication, and operational decision‑making.
* Comfortable working across field capture, office‑based processing oversight, and stakeholder‑facing problem solving.
* Experience with capture and processing ecosystems such as FARO, RealityScan, Autodesk ReCap, Rhino, Revit, Navisworks, SketchUp, CloudWorx, Twinmotion, Unreal Engine, or comparable tools.
* Strong understanding of QA/QC, data organisation, standards, and what good looks like for usable deliverables, not just technically correct raw data.
* Able to contribute to pricing, estimates, planning assumptions, and early‑stage solution thinking for internal and client‑facing opportunities.
* Confident working across departments and able to translate specialist technical detail into practical decisions for non‑specialist stakeholders.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present recommendations, findings, and opportunities clearly.
* Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, design‑led, delivery‑focused environment.
* Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to support, coach, and grow a high‑performing specialist team.
* Experience in live events, venues, experiential, branded environments, staging, hospitality, sports, or retail rollout.
* Experience producing or supporting digital twin environments for planning, review, or operational use.
* Familiarity with real‑time visualisation and immersive workflows, including Twinmotion, Unreal Engine, or VR review pipelines.
* Experience with proposal support, bid responses, or pre‑sales technical consultation.
* Familiarity with AI‑supported workflows, automation opportunities, or structured digital asset management.
* Understanding of drone/aerial capture possibilities and where they fit into a wider spatial workflow.
What Success Looks Like
* A reliable, well‑run Spatial Capture function with clear standards, repeatable workflows, and trusted outputs.
* Strong coordination between field capture, office processing, QA, and delivery.
* Outputs that are genuinely useful to design, fabrication, CS, sales, operations, and client teams.
* Consistent delivery of measurement ready outputs that are trusted by clients, design teams, and production teams.
* Better use of spatial data across LIVE·TEAM, including planning, measurement, digital twins, and future immersive workflows.
* Sensible, evidence‑based tool evolution rather than overreliance on one vendor or legacy process.
* A motivated, high‑performing team with clear expectations, strong support, and room to grow.
* Visible commercial value through smarter scoping, clearer estimates, stronger RFP responses, and more reusable digital assets.
