Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and talented Fashion Designer to join the team at Box Menswear in Hemel Hempstead. This is an exciting opportunity to design for a globally recognised menswear brand, with a primary focus on underwear, sportswear, and loungewear.
Our customers are predominantly part of the LGBTQI+ community, and we celebrate creativity, inclusivity, and bold designs.
Box Menswear is a dynamic e-commerce brand specialising in men’s underwear and clothing. We pride ourselves on creating unique, high-quality designs and fostering a collaborative, fun, and forward-thinking work environment.
This role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) with an immediate start. We understand that the successful candidate may need to serve a notice period.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design innovative and stylish menswear, focusing on underwear, swimwear, sportswear, and loungewear.
* Create detailed Tech Packs for overseas suppliers, ensuring clarity and precision.
* Communicate regularly with overseas suppliers for garment and sample amendments.
* Oversee the sampling process from concept to completion.
* Collaborate with the team to refine ideas and deliver collections.
* Conduct trend and market analysis regularly.
* Ensure designs are commercially viable within the brand's positioning.
* Collaborate cross-functionally and leverage transferable skills, including Graphic Design, to represent the brand and translate designs into digital formats.
What We Need From You:
* Passion and experience in fashion design, ideally in Men's Apparel.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and working knowledge of InDesign.
* Experience in creating Tech Packs for suppliers.
* Collaborative and creative mindset.
* Positive attitude and commitment to growth.
Desirable but Not Essential:
* Interest in the commercial aspects of fashion design, including supplier negotiations.
* Interest in the global reach of designs.
* Travel experience meeting suppliers abroad.
* Knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel.
Why Join Us?
* Hybrid working (3 days in-office, 2 WFH).
* Flexible working hours between 8am-9am start and 4pm-5pm finish.
* Potential international travel to supplier locations and trade shows.
* Small team environment with shared achievements.
* Creative and inclusive workplace culture.
* Opportunities for growth and recognition.
* Competitive holiday package and staff discounts.
Additional Information:
* Full-time hybrid role based in Speke, Liverpool, with free parking.
* In-house designer role; freelance/self-employed applications are not accepted.
* Role involves exposure to male bodies during product development and photoshoots.
* Initially, the role is for a single designer, with potential team growth.
We value capability and creativity over formal education and welcome candidates from all backgrounds. If this sounds like the perfect role, we’d love to hear from you!
Box Menswear is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusivity. Accommodations are available during the application process upon request.
The role will transition into a hybrid work model after an initial four-week onboarding period in the office, with flexibility to work remotely on 2 days per week, upon managerial agreement.
