About The Role
Our Dementia Friends programme raises essential awareness of dementia. You will be a local representative, raising awareness of the work of Alzheimer's Society and helping people affected by dementia access vital information and support. Other ways to get involved include being a friendly presence at fundraising events, sharing social media posts, or putting up posters. We are looking for volunteers across North Wales. Being able to deliver sessions confidently in Welsh is a bonus. Hours will vary.

About Alzheimer's Society
Alzheimer's Society is here for everyone affected by dementia. By 2025, an estimated 1 million people will be living with the condition in the UK, with millions more affected through carers, family and friends. There is no one-size-fits-all solution, but our aim is to transform lives today while we search for a cure.
We do this by:
* Providing flexible support services so that people with dementia, their carers and loved ones can access expert advice and guidance, support during challenging days, and a safe space to turn to when needed.
* Being a force for change — using research and influencing to push for breakthroughs that will change lives now and in the future.
Our Values
* Determined to make a difference: we're passionate, focused and aim to make a lasting impact for people affected by dementia.
* Trusted expert: we listen, learn and use experience and evidence.
* Better together: we’re open, we combine our strengths and achieve more together.
* Compassionate: we’re kind, honest and face challenges openly.
Equal Opportunities
Alzheimer's Society is committed to equal opportunities and to diversity, inclusion and accessibility. We strive to create a diverse organisation that represents the communities we serve and ensure inclusive recruitment processes. We will consider reasonable adjustments for people with a disability or long-term condition.
