Description As a Finance Assistant you will play a key role in supporting the finance business partnering team to deliver robust financial management for Transport Scotland. Partnering with stakeholders, you will provide robust forecast and budget monitoring related tasks to assist the wider directorate and ensure effective decision making and stewardship of public money. An opportunity has arisen to join the Finance and Corporate Services team as Finance Assistant. The Finance Assistant will work closely with the finance business partnering team, as well as providing support across the wider finance function, including the accounts payable and financial accounting team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and strengthen a broad range of skills and competencies, whilst gaining valuable insight into the important work carried out by the agency. Responsibilities • Collate the timely and accurate financial reporting, assisting in the completion of budgeting monitoring and reporting. • Support the Finance Business Partnering Team and wider business to assist them in making informed decisions. • Build and maintain effective working relationships with business areas and the wider finance team. • Provide support to the wider finance team as required, including the financial accounting team. • Assist as required in the collation of information for the Annual Report and Accounts and audit. Qualifications No specific qualification is required for this role, however Transport Scotland is willing to consider supporting accountancy qualifications. This will be considered on a case by case basis, depending on the candidate.
