Project Details
The successful Associate Quantity Surveyor will be involved in delivering a range of private sector construction projects across Bristol and the wider South West. Projects include commercial, residential, mixed-use and industrial developments, providing full cost management and project management services from inception through to completion.
Responsibilities and Duties
This is a senior, client-facing quantity surveying job in Bristol with responsibility for both delivery and business growth.
Duties will include:
1. Delivering high-quality cost consultancy and quantity surveying services to private sector clients
2. Leading projects independently and acting as the primary client contact
3. Networking and business development to grow a local client and professional contact base
4. Contributing to turnover, profitability and achievement of agreed business targets
5. Managing fees, project budgets and commercial performance
6. Supporting and mentoring junior team members as the team expands
Desired Skills and Experience
The employer is seeking an ambitious and commercially aware Associate Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable operating at a senior level.
Ideal experience includes:
7. Proven experience leading private sector construction projects
8. Strong knowledge of the Bristol and South West construction market
9. Client-facing consultancy experience within cost management or quantity surveying
10. Business development skills with an established professional network
11. Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a growing team
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
12. MRICS qualification is essential
13. At least 5 years post-qualification experience
14. Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline
