Legal Support Officer
To undertake a wide range of administrative and support functions for colleagues across the Legal Team
at all levels and contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of legal services to the Council.
LEGAL SUPPORT OFFICER (Legal Services)
Cheshire East Legal Services has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to come and join our busy team as a Legal Support Officer.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Legal Services provides legal advice, support, guidance and representation to the Council colleagues, as well as elected members and stakeholders across the full range of services delivered by Cheshire East Council.
Working alongside our Legal Practice Manager, you will support the service to deliver on a range of legal matters in order to protect and advance the interests of the Council and to meet the required standards and deadlines.
Your role will include undertaking legal administrative tasks and supporting the Managers and Lawyers in the team to run an efficient and high-quality legal service. Responsibilities will include maintaining administrative records and files, collating documentation, drafting letters, conducting standard legal processes, liaising with colleagues across legal services, general clerical tasks, and the processing of invoices.

ABOUT YOU
2. You will have 4 GCSE’s grade C or above, including English & Maths
3. Have some relevant practical legal work experience.
4. Be computer literate with good IT skills, & able to effectively use databases and/or Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook etc.)
5. Be able to manage routine and more specialised administration tasks with minimal supervision.
6. Be flexible and to be able to work in a fast-paced financial environment where deadlines and priorities may change.
7. Be able to work on your own initiative, as well as being part a wider legal team, plan and prioritise competing workloads.
8. Have the ambition for career progression within the legal team when opportunities arise.
