Housing OfficerLocation: Rugby Rate: £21Duration: Temporary, 3 months with potential for extension
Rugby Borough Council is seeking a temporary Housing Officer to join its Housing Advice and Benefits, Housing Services, Assets, and Communities & Projects Teams. The role will focus on supporting the launch and ongoing management of a new housing development at Navigation Way, comprising sixty flats and forty houses.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the implementation of the Local Lettings Plan, supporting a balanced and sustainable community.
* Work with the Allocations Team to review candidate data, supporting the allocation of properties subject to Housing Services' review and approval.
* Complete site visits and review tenancies for those offered new tenancies, assessing suitability and supporting moves as required.
* Support the Housing Services Team in collating sign-up information, including details about key property features (e.g., solar panels, air source heat pumps).
* Ensure relevant teams have added new properties to existing contracts (e.g., cleaning, fire detection, grounds maintenance), including defect liability information.
* Maintain oversight of new properties created and entered into the Cx Housing Management and Allocations System, verifying data accuracy.
* Liaise with the Property Repairs Service and Asset Team to ensure new properties are correctly set up within Total Mobile and Technology Forge.
* Communicate defect liability and out-of-hours call-out information to the Control Centre and Astraline.
* Participate in site visits before and after handover to identify and resolve issues promptly.
* Support sign-ups and new tenants with moving in, including tenancy support and the setup of utility accounts.
* Work with the Communities and Projects Team and external agencies to organise welcome events and foster tenant engagement.
* Assist in the preparation of positive messaging about the new scheme for Councillors and the public, working closely with internal Communications teams.
