Position
As Head of Health & Safety, you will provide leadership to the SHEQ Team allowing them to facilitate an environment of quality, safety and professionalism across all divisions at BJF Group - providing our teams with the platform to deliver work schedules within set budgets and agreed timescales, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction possible.
Working closely with the wider Senior Leadership Team, you will ensure BJF Group meets regulatory requirements across all relevant industry legislation, as well as protecting our workforce and the environment whilst maintaining high-quality standards. We adopt a collaborative working model across all management teams to quickly identify potential hazards, enabling us to develop and deliver strategies to mitigate them - alongside working with the Quality & Compliance Manager to review audit findings, being the point of escalation for compliance matters and implement best-practice & innovative ways of working across relevant teams with a particular focus on industry standards and internal processes.
You will need to be a strong communicator, enabling you to effectively manage the SHEQ department to ensure best practices are followed, costs are controlled, and our teams are able to maximise revenue generation opportunities through our value add proposition - both directly and indirectly.
This is a diverse role with the opportunity for exposure across the group, playing a pivotal role in the way we strive for continuous improvement in all things Health, Safety, Quality and Environment - the right person will be a seasoned Safety professional who has the drive to stay on the cutting edge of innovative ways of working and mitigating risk, as well as a confident manager with the ability to provide strategic leadership to a motivated and dedicated team.

Key responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to:
Lead on Safety, Health, Environment and Quality providing support to all divisions/teams
Produce a divisional strategy, inclusive of challenge but achievable whilst empathetic to Group strategy
Establish strong relationships with all Heads of Division in order to achieve success on strategy
Strong communication with all personnel
Experienced in Alcumus Audits in all 4 standards: ISO(phone number removed), 14001, 45001 to support the Q&C Manager
Knowledge of Safety Schemes In Procurement (SSIP) and the importance of compliance with
Lead in driving a positive SHEQ culture through the divisional teams
Identify methods in educating mid-level and senior management in best practice
Maintenance and continual improvement of an established IMS System
Policy and procedure production
Requirements
To be considered for the role you will need to demonstrate a strong mix of the following
Qualifications/Accreditations:
CMIOSH
Ideally hold or working towards a NEBOSH/NCRQ Diploma or NVQ 5 (or equivalent) and relevant membership of IOSH
Professional Experience:
Proven experience in a similar role within Facilities Management, Reactive & Construction background
Lead Auditor
Lead Investigator
Policy writer or technical writer
Results driven achievements over 5 years
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Accuracy and attention to detail
Proficient in embracing and diving change
Effective verbal and written communication skills
The ability to influence and engage key internal and external stakeholders from operations on the ground to the Boardroom
A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance and regulations
