We are seeking an enthusiastic, Accounts and/or customer service orientated Logistics Finance Clerk to join our Logistics Finance team.
Based at our Head Office at Breedon on the Hill, Derby, within easy access of East Midlands Airport, this is a perfect opportunity for an experienced administrator looking for the next step in their career or someone looking for a new challenge to get stuck into!
We are looking for a bright and friendly person who is keen to get stuck in and engage with a rapidly growing part of our business. This is a niche role as it touches on elements of Purchase and Sales ledger, Credit Control, Customer Services, and Accountancy work.
You will have excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities, as well as good communication skills with the ability to build rapport with our colleagues and hauliers. This role offers hybrid working, requiring you to attend Pinnacle House 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
* Well - rounded knowledge of how accounts work, and how to investigate queries
* Experience in Purchase and/or Sales Ledger would be beneficial, as there can be a crossover with some accounts
* Maintain documents and our data systems to a high standard
* Handle calls and queries, giving prompt resolutions, comfortable on the phone, and dealing with awkward calls
* Organised, and good with deadlines – Accuracy is important
* Co-ordinate payment to hauliers, create/terminate and manage haulier accounts
* Work closely with our Transport Managers and the Logistics & Transport teams to optimise services and team performance
* We will be investigating queries, under and overpayments to Owner drivers and External hauliers and anything else that comes up.
* There will be lots of phone calls, and huge amounts of spreadsheet work, and bobbing in and out of different systems.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Experience within a similar role would be an advantage but is not essential
* Any Logistics experience would be an advantage, but is not essential
* You will be trustworthy, efficient and hardworking, with the ability to prioritise your workload.
* Have excellent communication skills and be able to work well within a team.
