Property Litigation Solicitor
Contract: 12 months Fixed Term Contract

Job purpose:
Fantastic new 12-month Fixed Term Contract working within the litigation team of a leading Asset Manager. Providing legal support and advice with a focus on dispute resolution, litigation and minimising risk to the business. Knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and its associated regulations is essential for this role.
Key accountabilities:
* Liaising with and taking instructions from the Director of Legal, Head of Litigation, as well as the Managing Director and other senior managers and members of staff as may be required.
* Handling own case load of predominantly property litigation matters, with appropriate supervision, according to experience, dealing with all stages of disputes from pre-litigation stage up to and including trial/hearing advocacy (as required).
* Dealing with other ad-hoc building safety and property litigation matters as required, with appropriate supervision.
* Liaison with external solicitors and Counsel, where instructed, monitoring external costs spend carefully and obtaining appropriate expenditure authorities.
* Providing general support and advice to internal clients within the Company (including Directors, Operations, Building Safety, Credit Control, Property Management and Consents functions) on property legislation requirements and regulatory compliance.
* With the assistance of the team, support staff maintaining case files and records, database records, reports on dispute matters and other legal activity for both internal and external clients.
* Managing deadlines and other work requirements carefully and protecting the interests of the Company at all times.
* Drafting and reviewing documents and agreements in use throughout the Company, advising on procedures and policies as may be required.
Skills and knowledge:
* Solicitor or Barrister qualified to practice in England & Wales with a current unrestricted Practising Certificate or similar qualification
* At least 5 years of relevant post-qualification work experience
* High standard of academic achievement and professional qualifications
* Experience of dealing with and advising on matters relating to the Building Safety Act 2022
* Experience of residential long leasehold properties (not the private rented (AST) sector)
* Excellent attention to detail
* High degree of integrity and reliability
* Proven ability to work under pressure and to deadlines with minimum supervision, good organisational skills, and able to work within a team
* Good drafting skills and an effective communicator
* Experience of advocacy before Courts and/or Tribunals
* Experience in conveyancing, property acquisitions, and property-related finance
* Experience in company and commercial transactional matters
* Experience with GDPR legislation
