An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Practitioner to join the Exeter Kidney Unit within the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in a Part-Time band 4 post based at Heavitree Haemodialysis Unit.
Heavitree Haemodialysis provides in-centre dialysis for up to 120 patients in a Nurse-Led satellite dialysis unit. The unit also houses our busy Home Haemodialysis service.
About the Role
We are looking for a committed, flexible and enthusiastic individual who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They will be fully competent in performing all aspects of in-centre haemodialysis.
The successful candidate will be responsible, along with the other in-centre Band 4s, for acting as a Dialysis access link nurse, contributing to the encouragement of and training for patients to perform Assisted Self Care in the unit, coordinating the completion of CVC competences and the completion and escalation of IPOS Renal results. They will also work closely with the HHD team with the opportunity to further develop their knowledge and understanding of the HHD machines and set up.
The successful candidate must have the ability to travel as they may be required to provide specialist cover at one of our other dialysis units in South or East Devon.
Working Pattern: The unit is open Monday to Saturday between 0730 and 2300. We do not open Christmas Day or New Years Day. There are two shifts - Long Earlies 0730 - 1830 and Long Lates 1200 - 2300.
