Overview
We’re looking for a motivated and ambitious Assistant Project Manager to support one of the largest and most complex infrastructure programmes the UK water sector has seen in decades. As part of our multi-billion-pound Strategic Reservoir Programme—including the Fens and Lincolnshire reservoirs—you’ll be at the heart of a nationally significant project that will help secure water supplies for generations to come.
Supporting the development of the Lincs reservoir, embedded in the Programme Management Team, you’ll work closely with the Project Manager across all stages of the project lifecycle—from RAPID regulatory submissions to planning (DCO) and procurement. You’ll also manage key work packages (up to £5m), gaining hands‑on experience and visibility on a truly career‑defining programme.
What we’re looking for
* A quick learner with strong IT skills
* Self‑motivated, enthusiastic, and full of initiative
* Excels at solving complex challenges and driving projects forward
* A confident communicator who builds strong relationships
* Able to thrive working remotely with a flexible, can‑do attitude
What you’ll be doing
* Project Management: Support the end‑to‑end delivery of a major reservoir project by assisting with cost control, scheduling, risk management, reporting, and process improvement. You’ll help keep the programme on track across all phases—from regulatory milestones through to construction and commissioning.
* Stakeholder Management: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with engagement strategies. You’ll contribute to communications, reporting, and coordination across departments and Water Partnerships.
* Regulatory Compliance: Assist in meeting regulatory requirements, including RAPID and DWI/EA consultations. Help prepare key documentation and support engagement efforts to secure stakeholder confidence in project solutions.
* Governance: Support governance processes, helping to prepare reports, track approvals, and assist with board‑level updates and change control. You’ll play a key role in maintaining compliance with Anglian Water’s project and contract management standards.

* Health & Safety certifications relevant to construction or infrastructure (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely)
* Valid driving licence
* Strong project management and organisational skills
* Clear and confident communicator, able to build relationships and influence
* Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to work independently
Benefits
