The Growth Company’s Employment team has a new vacancy for an IAG Adviser who will deliver effective, labour market-focused careers information, advice, and guidance to customers across prison estates and during transition to community services.
This role is based at HM Prison Risley (Warrington).
We help make a lasting difference to lives across the North of England and beyond by supporting individuals to gain meaningful employment. Our skilled advisers and keyworkers work with a range of individuals, from those recently out of work to those facing complex barriers such as disabilities, mental health issues, and debt.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide personalized IAG that meets individual needs, develops career management skills, encourages independence, and leads to sustained learning and employment outcomes.
* Manage a caseload of customers to achieve targets related to employment or learning.
* Utilize labour market information and employer links to support customer outcomes.
* Build effective relationships with partners, including prison staff and agencies, to generate new customer opportunities.
* Deliver support through various channels such as the Virtual Campus, workshops, and face-to-face sessions.
* Create high-quality action plans for each customer and ensure service levels meet satisfaction standards.
* Collaborate with colleagues across services to maximize customer outcome tracking and evidence collection.
* Conduct administrative tasks, including report writing, data analysis using Nomis, and service evaluation.
* Ensure compliance with the Prison Service DPS contract and meet standards set by Skills Funding Agency, Ofsted, and Matrix.
* Work across multiple sites in the Northwest, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, and Merseyside as required.
About You
* Experience in delivering job or learning outcomes in custodial settings, preferably in target-driven environments.
* Experience managing a caseload supporting employment, education, or resettlement needs.
* Excellent knowledge of local labour markets and progression routes, including local education and training options.
* Knowledge of Matrix and Ofsted standards in a Careers IAG context.
* A warm, approachable delivery style to build rapport.
Skills Required
* NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Advice & Guidance, DipCG, or equivalent; willingness to work towards CDI License to Practise.
* Ability to work in a target-driven environment focused on outcomes.
* High-level guidance skills for one-to-one and group sessions, at least Grade 2 standard.
* Proficiency in digital platforms for delivering information, advice, and guidance, including online tools and the Virtual Campus.
